The Reward & Employee Engagement manager role exists to develop and manage total reward for locally engaged staff within corporate guidelines that supports business objectives. They will work with the regional leadership team, regional HR teams and the Centre of Expertise to implement pay and reward frameworks in the region.

Role overview
Accountabilities, responsibilities and main duties:
Reward
•Provide an assurance role in ensuring consistency in implementation of Total Reward initiatives in the region that are integrated, aligned to best practice, and benchmarked against industry competitors
•Work with Cluster HR (in country) leads to identify, consider and provide advice on the recruitment market, regulatory framework and local context and parameters for each location that will inform local pay and benefits policies
•Customise and apply the benefits framework to the region, working with the Regional HR team to implement successfully, and ensuring that all reward practices in region remain aligned to global frameworks
•Create an HR audit framework and deploy it across region
•Manage regional Terms & Conditions (TACOs) review and countries alignment
•Ensure mobility packages are aligned with corporate offer and scrutinise cost
•Define, monitor and maintain the reward policy, including the criteria for awarding pay increases within the region, in line with global reward policy
•Lead on job evaluation of roles in SSA as a basis for grading and salary benchmarking. Maintain records on the SharePoint site as required corporately.
•Manage relationships with HR consultancies specializing in pay, rewards, and benefits.
•Coach Cluster HR managers in any aspect of pay, reward and benefits.
•Ensure all total reward initiatives are underpinned by the values and HR frameworks of the British Council and adhere to the organisation’s Equal Opportunities and Diversity guidelines
Employee engagement
•Encourage and enable staff to participate in employee surveys; carry out analysis of major findings and work with senior leaders to build action plans that address results
•Responsible for advice, support, and the on-going development of the staff associations, liaising with the Head of HR
•Build and manage proactive relationships with all levels of employees, managers and key communicators in the region to support improved communications and engagement
•Build and manage effective working relationships with senior managers and directors to ensure a high level of engagement with, primarily the staff association,
•Support in leveraging events and meetings to create and sustain dialogue around engagement
•Work in conjunction with the Communications and Engagement Lead to ensure global communications and employee engagement activities are joined up and aligned to Employer Branding guidelines and best practice
•Support the development and delivery of creative and influential communication campaigns to help engage employees with programmes of organisational change, projects, initiatives and events
•Will act as the focal point for employee wellbeing issues and working with senior leaders to create enabling work environments for staff.
